Australian National Broadband Network (NBN)
Platform Networks were the first wholesale aggregation service provider signed with the Australian National Broadband Network (NBN) as part of the mainland first release sites trial.
Platform Networks are currently offering services over the NBN to customers as part of the first release trial, at this time the trial involves only a limited number of customers, but will gradually expand as testing continues.
We are currently taking expressions of interest from customers that wish to connect to the NBN when commercial services are launched, which is expected to be in available from September this year.
Our NBN solutions are focused on servicing small ISP, Telco or IT businesses with less than 100,000 end users. Our aim is to provide a safe harbour for companies who are likely to be edged out of the market by large providers, ensuring they are able to purchase wholesale services from a supplier that won't compete with them.
NBN solutions and our customers
Platform Networks provides its customers connection to the NBN without the investment, infrastructure and customer volume required to connect directly with NBN Co.
Continuing our objective of providing big business solutions without the add-on costs, the wholesale price of an NBN service is similar in price to buying an ADSL2 service delivered by Platform Networks. By reducing costs for our customers, it enables your business to remain competitive in an evolving NBN environment.
1. NBN Wholesale (Layer 2) Solution
Our NBN Wholesale (Layer 2) Solution is designed for customers that have an established network and who are purely looking for a connection into the NBN network. Customers are connected to the NBN via Platform Networks infrastructure and access can be delivered to single or multiple PoPs nationally. NBN Layer 2 services can also be bundled with intercapital bandwidth, colocation, IP Transit and other last mile access services to help you deliver a national presence for your customers.
2. NBN Wholesale VISP (Layer 3) Solution
Our NBN Wholesale VISP (Layer 3) Solution is designed for customers without an established network or who require an aggregated service solution with other bundled wholesale services covering, last mile data, data centre and voice solutions. Customers are connected to the NBN via Platform Networks infrastructure and can be setup as internet based services, private networks, voice and data networks or a combination of these options. Our VISP solution takes the complicated requirements of running a network off your hands, allowing you to focus on servicing your customers and driving the growth of your business.

Platform Networks assist AFP with High Tech Investigation

Platform Networks immediately started working with the Australian Federal Police (AFP) High Tech Crimes Commission, providing them with a rare insight into this unlawful activity as it was happening. South Brisbane Exchange Migration
Download (PDF 181KB)Telstra has entered into an agreement for the sale of the site of the South Brisbane exchange building to the Queensland Government. Copper services currently connected to the South Brisbane exchange will be upgraded to fibre (providing end-users with FTTP) and run out of the Woolloongabba exchange. NBN Co begin live network trials
